the rise method:
12 seasonal types
In the Rise Method, each parent season (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) is characterized by a combination of three traits: Warm, Cool, Bright, Soft, Deep, & Light. Each of the traits further characterizes a nuanced sub-season of colors, all of which still retain the influence of the parent season:
our aesthetic goals
The Rise Method prioritizes two aesthetic factors: illumination and harmony. I will teach you to identify and quantify both in order to consistently analyze your clients’ season, no matter their personal coloring.
the power of comparison
Our greatest tool in color analysis is comparison. Only by comparing precise colors on a client, in real time, can we reveal the effects of the drapes within our clients’ complexions.
our job as color analysts
Your job is to remain open throughout the analysis, and to identify the predictable patterns revealed by applying targeted color comparisons. Only then can you allow the drapes to reveal the client’s true season - and take them on an empowering journey full of discoveries.
rise method values
There are three core values I expect all Rise Method analysts to uphold:
Celebration - it is my firm belief that our experience of color is a celebration of the physics of light, and the unique interaction we have with the physical world. Secondly, I believe that our personal coloring is a celebration of the very fact that we managed to arrive on this Earth. Everyone is a masterpiece.
Curiosity - a Rise Method color analyst is open-minded, eager to learn, and unafraid of a challenge. The right person for this program believes that mistakes are an invitation to go deeper. We also believe that the clients that work with us chose us to witness their unique self-exploration journey, and that is a profound honor.
Connection - by connecting with our clients through color, we empower our clients to experience a deeper connection with themselves. This connection unlocks opportunities for our clients to take up more space, be more generous with their gifts and talents, and make a greater impact on their communities and the world.
By enrolling in the Rise Method Certification, you are stating that you agree to uphold these beliefs and values.

from stay-at-home-mom to style CEO
A peek into my own style journey…
2016 ↔️ 2023
I like to say I didn’t become a stylist the normal way. I became a stylist the scrappy way.
Let’s back up to 2014: Motherhood knocked me on my butt. I went from strutting around downtown Pittsburgh in my thrifted designer duds, to - literally - sitting on my butt under a newborn. I had just signed a multi-year contract on a job I had no training for: stay-at-home mom.
Little did I know, these four years were the beginning of a career path I could never have predicted.
Don’t get me wrong, my four years as a stay-at-home mom were absolutely breath-taking. This was the time in my life where I became obsessed with women. I met hundreds of women in my local mom’s group, and marveled at the depth and complexity of their lives and goals.
And, like any mommy group worth their salt, we had a Facebook clothing swap page. When my second baby turned one, my new post-baby body seemed to be here to stay. I decided to part with my beautiful pre-baby clothes.
Comments on my things began rolling in:
”OMG who were you in a past life?”
”I had no idea you were such a fashionista!”
”Umm you never told me you were so stylish!”
WERE. I couldn’t help but feel almost PROUD. Letting myself go felt like a badge of honor in mom culture. I was growing up. I was done with that life.
But, something was brewing behind the scenes. A local stylist in the group saw my clothing swap posts, and send me a message offering me a job.
To make a long story short, I said yes to an opportunity I wouldn’t have gotten if I hadn’t cleaned out my closet.
And I never looked back.

frequently asked questions
after i’m certified in the rise method, will i be able to operate independently?
Yes, once you have completed your certification, you are free to begin operating independently, with the requirement to attend two continuing education classes each year.
Rise Styling franchising and Color Kit partnership opportunities will be available to graduates, for those who would like a booking link on the Rise Styling website, as well as ongoing marketing, inventory, customer service, and client consultation support.
how much can i make doing color analysis?
An independent analyst can charge between $250 and $400 per client, depending on your market. You can work from home, which keeps expenses quite low. One session lasts approximately 90 minutes. You can reset for the next client in 15 minutes or less.
Those who opt into the franchisee or partnership options will have additional income streams such as commissions and affiliate link payouts.
what kind of space do i need for seeing clients?
You need a climate-controlled room with a large window that gets indirect sunlight. You’ll need space in front of it for a full-length mirror, a comfortable chair for your client, and still have room to walk around. Your client should be able to sit close enough to lean forward and touch the window. I will show you my personal favorite set-up for my drapes that can be easily stored between appointments.
i’m intimidated by marketing. how will i find clients?
After you had your color analysis, how many people did you tell about it? Word of mouth from happy clients is by far the most effective form of marketing, especially if you cater to women. Women are 80% more likely to take action based on a personal recommendation from a friend, versus seeing an ad. Your best marketing effort is to serve your clients well and give them an experience they’ll never forget. A social media presence is recommended to engage with referrals and make scheduling easy.
Those who opt into a franchising agreement with me will get ongoing marketing support and a booking link on the Rise Styling website.
is there a trade-wide, national, or international governing body that oversees color analysis certifications?
No. As with many aesthetic trades and art forms, it is common to receive training from an established expert in the field and method you wish to practice, followed by maintaining an ongoing mentorship relationship with that expert.
I trained with an expert in the field, and developed my own method through personal experience analyzing hundreds of faces. The tools in your Starter Kit have been hand-selected by me to be the most effective, based on the results I’ve seen with my own clients.
